I don’t know if we all feel the same but summer went by so fast. We’re now at the very end of August and I look back feeling so much nostalgia.
In the summer, JOSI betrays itself a bit and finds many joys outside : ideally on a Greek island, close to the sea. Take your pick: a wild beach, a simple & traditional taverna, sailing on a greek kaiki at very slow pace…
Here’s a list of my essentials that are my go-to everyday over the summer.
1. Pareos
I don’t think you can have too many pareos. Not only do you have different types but you can also wear them in so many different ways.
One of my favourite pareos brand is Colores, a greek brand from the Cycladic island of Sifnos. Very accessible pricing, made 100% of cotton and the size is perfect, especially if you want to wear them as short skirts.
I wore this one on repeat all summer.
Another brand worth checking out is Parioca, a brazilian brand with very cheeky prints. A great conversation starter on the beach :) I went for Private Tile. I’ll let you figure out what it is. You can wear in many different ways, there is a little video to show you how to do it.
2. Swimsuit
My brand of the summer is Lido which I discovered thanks to my sister-in-law during a weekend in Venice. Lido is an Italian brand from Venice and they were having a little pop up.
I went for a one-piece in what I called sunset colours. I don’t think you can find a better swimsuit for a fun sunset session on the beach.
3. Cap VS hat
I usually am more of a hat girl but this summer I loved my caps. Each of them had a special meaning as they were each merch of a friend’s business: from Oslo Made In Heaven (featured), LAP and Psili Ammos Beach Racket Club.
4. Sandals
My go-to sandals are either Liwan (Lebanese artisanal brand, they have a shop rue St Sulpice in Paris) or the very simple leather ones you can buy anywhere in Greece.
Yet again, Gini, my sister-in-law, rocked some great Ancient Greek Sandals reminiscent of the jelly shoes we used to wear as kids. I would not have bought them on my own, I don’t think I would have dared but seeing them on her, I will definitely get a pair for next summer. Not only cool but also very convenient on rocky beaches.
5. Beach Bag
I am slightly biased but this summer, my beach bag was by Psiliammos Beach Racket Club. The first drop of a brand launched by my brother, only available to buy in Patmos, the island we go to.
